Yesterday, I went out on my first photo shoot of the year and was treated to a lovely sunrise. This panoramic image is a composite of three photographs. I took three sequential photographs of the landscape and stitched them together in photoshop and then overlaid the kayak from the first image into the final image (the pano stitch rendered the kayak kind of funny due to the lens distortion, so I found this technique worked best). It's been so long since I've had a proper nature photo shoot - the last entry in my Lightroom catalog was from December 22, 2013! It definitely felt good to get out yesterday morning and soak up some nature.

I hope you like this. As always, I appreciate your comments, critiques, and feedback.

Canon 5D Mark II, 17-40mm lens, handheld from kayak.

An exceptional image Kari --- really nice work stitching the images together. I love the view over the bow of the kayak heading into the sunrise. Well done and of course it's great to see your work here!

Looks cool and has a sense of solitude to it.

The tip of the kayak puts the viewer into the picture.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
