Over the years I've struggled with taking photos at sunrise or sunset.  Something I read and/or heard many years ago created a prejudice against shooting these kinds of images in my mind.  A recent post on my blog discusses the development of this prejudice and my efforts to overcome this hesitation to photograph these magic times of day. Since this has been at the front of my mind recently I thought I'd share a recent sunset image.  Made on Atlantic Beach, NC near the Oceanana Fishing Pier.  Canon 7D, Sigma 24-35mm lens, ISO 100, f/16.0, 1/5 sec.

Lovely shot --- I like the composition and color, and especially the reflection.

That's a cool looking pier and you captured it well. I like the structure and the cool and warm colors. Glad you overcame your prejudice!

Like Garb B I was drawn to the reflection. I also like the motion.

Alone the same lines, I've read that photographers limit themselves by being too preoccupied with the golden hours for their shots.

I believe there's some truth in that.
