Yes, I know the subjects are supposed to walk into the frame and not out if it, but I did this on purpose because, to me, it told a story of the end of his surfing session and the end of the day.

There is no hard rule which way a person has to walk in a frame. It all depends on the context. This surfer walking away from the scene is perfectly OK. In fact, it would look funny if he'd came walking into the frame.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
