Just a note of caution when updating to the new version of lightroom that came out yesterday. There are quite a few mac users reporting crashing issues. I went ahead with the update thinking that "it wont happen to me". It did, using an iMac and LR is crashing constantly for me.

I upgraded and I'm not having an issue. On the other hand, the machine I'm running on is running OS X ver 10.9.5 which might be making a difference.

I upgraded and then crashed.

If you want to go back to 6.1, try this link: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i- ... oom-6-1-1/

Worked for me.

I cannot understand what Adobe have done to the import dialog. It is retrogressive. There is very little control over destination folders or file naming. There is no clear certainty where your images are going or what they will be named.I am seriously considering no longer using Lightroom to import images. Hope they don't tamper with the other modules.

Looks like you can uncheck Show "Add Photos"screen in the preferences (a new addition) and things look a bit more normal.

Worth a read before updating, could be wise to sit this one out until they resolve the issues:

An update to fix the crashing has been released though the missing features referenced in that article are still absent.
