For those brave souls that work with Focal, a test version has been released for the Mac platform.

One would certainly have to be brave, plus the latest offering is even labelled "Beta" - which is a red-flag waving in the breeze...as if the "regular" edition(s) were genuinely refined and useable. Filled with quirks and glitches is being kind with words. A worthy idea in lens-tuning, but moving past "idea" to that of a noteworthy product - the gap is appreciable.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.  The Mac version of the retail product is so unstable that it's laughable.  I genuinely hope that they've fixed that instability in v.2 but I'm going to let others be the guinea pigs.

On the other hand, what do we have to lose?  I don't know how many times I've tried to calibrate lenses on my 5D3 (which is basically manual) only to have the program shut down when nearing the end.  How much worse could it get?

Yeah, same thing happens with my Nikons.  Often I'm right near the end and the program just crashes.  I don't think I've ever gotten through a precise adjustment, the one with lots more samples, on a D7xxx

What do people recommend as an alternative? I just got my D800 back from Nikon and I think the AF needs adjusting.

I'm going to try the beta version.  It can't be any worse than what I have now.
