8.1 is out but I am not sure if the update automatically over writes 8 or gives me a trial version)

The way C1 updates work you DL a whole new version which overwrites the old one. It seems like you are DLing a trial version but once you launch it, it either finds your old reg key or you just re-enter it. It's not a slick update procedure.

I downloaded the 8.1 version this morning and it was a smooth process. It replaced the 8.0.2 version and no registration code entering was required.

I am pleased that the new version now has lens profiles for most of the Canon-mount Zeiss lenses, but the 28/2 and all lenses from the 21/2.8 on down are still missing. I hope that will be fixed soon.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
