Problem with recent ACR update on Macs

I noticed about a week ago that I was not getting any Metadata in Bridge and ACR and that any ACR adjustments I made were not reflected in Bridge on my MacBook Pro. After hours of trying to debug this, clearing preference files, scouring the internet for a solution, etc, I broke down and redownloaded CS6 and reinstalled on Saturday. This solved the problem. Now Adobe has acknowledged that this was caused by the most recent ACR update - wish I had know about this when I encountered the problem - it would have saved me several hours. It is a problem on Macs only. Here is the patch:
