Does anyone know where I can buy a Nikon Coolscan V ED? Adorama has them but at $75 above MSRP. B&H only lists the 5000 and 9000 on their site. Amazon lists the one from Adorama at Adorama's price. I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

On a related note would it be worth looking at a Plustek Optifilm 7200 or 7500 Series? It appears that the difference between the 7200 & the 7500 is that the 7500 is a multi-pass scanner. They appear to be available in any number of places including B&H, and New Egg

Thanks for any help you can give.

Tim, I have one for sale. It's about 4 years old, has made about 5000 scans and works very well. It's surplus for me because I have upgraded to a 9000 to take care of medium format film. I can ship it with all the original accessories plus an optional film strip holder, documents and original box. I was about to list it on ebay when I came across your post. Interested?

BTW, for those interested, if you have a couple of spare thousands of dollars, a 9000 is a really good way to batch scan 35mm film. It'll do 12 frames per batch.

Thanks for the offer Walter, but I did what I should have done originally.

I went into one of my local camera stores (one of only three left in metro Detroit) and when they said they didn't have one but could order it and have it within 2 weeks I agreed. Sometimes it works to go to the local guy first. Price is MSRP but that is still cheaper than Adorama.
