Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Flora and Macro Gallery, week ending 29th June, 2012!

Hi all
Here's a shot of a tiny froglet, the visible part of the froglet is probably approx 8-10mm? (the vegetation is duck weed), I would say little one is actually inbetween being a tadpole with legs and a Young Frog/Froglet, although obviously not visible in this shot, the tail was very long!, I took this shot a few weeks ago and they were quite sluggish (which could have been the cool weather) and kept to the water, now I see no tails or barely visible little stubs, plus they are all over the lawn (and extremely quick/mobile!).........so whether this is a "Tadpole with legs" or a "Froglet"....I have no clues really? :)
I used a full set of extension tubes and it was quite windy, so I used a wide aperture, the DOF over the little frog could be much better :o .... but hopefully the tiny scale of this scene will come across as intended to all you macro shooters!........which is a bit of an excuse/get out clause  :D

Steve, Lovely shot. Regardless of the stage of development of this wee little one, the soft feel contrasts so nicely with the sharp detail in the eye. Also the color palette and feel of being in the water with the critter is wonderful Great shot.

Wonderful image. The eye and head are beautifully rendered, neat OOF foreground.

I think this is rendered just right, Steve. I don't need any more rearward detail...I am just really enjoying the eye peering out of the mist as it were. Nice!

Hi

I think this is an adorable shot of this adolescent froglet – the focus is placed superbly to present a strong viewer focal point, which certainly draws the eye into the scene. While that dreamy surround has just enough hints of a pond setting – very nice indeed imo !!!

Have a fun weekend
Matthew

Love it! Enough is as good as a feast, and this is a great story telling image with the emergence of the young prince from the ethereal water!
