A pretty cool 6 minute video on a group of Los Angeles photographers that spend hours once a month trying to capture the perfect silhouette of a plane against a full moon.  The fellow that shot the famous image of the Vietnamese girl during the war is part of the group.

Looks like a fun group.  Reminds me a bit of the people that gather at the La Jolla Cliffs in San Diego to photograph the brown pelicans in breeding plumage.
Cheers,
Doug

Reminds me of my attempts to get a crane image in front of the moon in Bosque. I have not been successful yet :(

Wow, great link, Doug.  Nick Ut with his image of the little girl burned by napalm did more to stop the Vietnam War than all us hippie protesters.  Unfortunately, nonstop war seems to be what the world powers have always been about, and that still hasn't changed.  Not that there aren't bag guys out there we need to be very ready for.

Oh yes, I forgot the link was about getting a shot of a plane in front of the moon.  Pales compared to Nick's chilling image.

Totally agree, Steve! And, Rajan, keep trying - that would be an epic shot!
Cheers,
Doug

The closest place to rent one is this one. They're in Albuquerque.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
