Earlier this year i heard the trill of an Eastern Screech Owl, so i decided to get some plans and put up a box in my backyard. within a few days after putting it up we noticed a head sticking out of the hole and determined it was an Eastern Screech Owl. Since that time i have seen the male who hangs out in a near by tree, the female in the nest hole. they are now feeding the owlets in the box. i have not seen the owlets but the way they bring food there must a few in the box.

Hey, way cool.  Nice shot as well.  I've always wanted to do this in some of the wooded areas around here.

After several tries I finally found a red morph eastern screech owl this weekend ( with a tip from someone so cannot claim any credit).
