At the start of May I will have a 8 day trip to lesvos with some great locations to visit for bird photography.
I will be bringing a Dx and FF body that I can pair with a 300mm f/2.8 VR II with or without 1.4TC.

I am a little bit in doubt if my gear has sufficient reach and I was hoping if anyone could enlighten me about the distance most birds can be found on Lesvos.
I could rent a 500mm f/4 for the trip, but if its not completely necessary id rather keep the money.
