Apparently an owl flies into a home and somehow manages to flip open the door on a bird cage and then kills one of the pet canaries.  The owl is losing some feathers on its head but the homeowners think it is a saw-whet.

The image shows an immature Western Screech Owl hence the lack of head feathers. If the owners leave their door open I bet it is not the first time that owl has "cased" that apartment!

Cheers,

Jim

I understand the offending owl was found sitting on the living room couch watching Jeopardy and enjoying a beer.

There are plenty of them around.  They call them night owls.

Those plastic Great-Horned Owls do not work, apparently :-)   They showed one in the video.

Yeah :-)  But I do feel bad for the canary. Helpless really.
