Looking to spend most of Monday afternoon and evening/sunset at Point Reyes north of San Francisco. Any tips on locations, especially seascapes? It's a big area and I found this guide - http://www.pointreyesphotoguide.com/ - which seems to be good. But, was looking for those that are experienced for any tips. Also, if there are other locations beyond Pt. Reyes that are a reasonable drive, I'm open to that also.

TIA

My favorite trail at Pt. Reyes is the Abbots Lagoon Trail. It is relatively flat and includes a number of habitats and a diversity of birds and flowers (even this late in the year you will see quite a few flowers, especially on the beach and sand dune areas). You will likely see deer and if early in the morning there are rabbits. There is also a nice headland that looks down on the area that is south of the bridge where the beaches start. Beware of Poison Oak as it is plentiful and not always obvious.

For best seascapes I would suggest checking with the visitor center on locations, tides and sunsets. It is the foggy season so you may not have a good sunset opportunity.
Here is a link to a trip I did to Abbotts Lagoon three weeks ago with photos and flower and bird lists:http://naturalhistorywanderings.com/2014/07/06/abbotts-lagoon-pt-reyes-flowers-birds-and-more-7514/
