After many years of waiting, wishing and wanting, I am finally headed to Italy this Spetember to photograph Tuscany. Wondering if any one has some favorite roads to recommend for scenery and photography. Like SR2 through the Orcia Valley for instance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I thank you all in advance.

You can't go wrong in Tuscany. I wouldn't miss San Geminiano and surroundings.

San Geminiano is awesome..... I bought my first DLSR (10D) when I had the opportunity to go there for a wedding, stunning area.

Sienna is beautiful also.

You should also consider those lesser known villages and areas around it :

Monteriggioni, Volterra and Pitigliano

I love the town of Montepulciano - especially the church of San Biagio. The wine region is certainly worth exploring in September. In Montepulciano, the place to stay is Il Riccio - a small but nice B&B just off the main square.
